HI, I AM BAILEY
RESCUED FROM: BREEDING/HOARDING
Hi, I’m Bailey. I may only be a few years old, but I’ve already lived through things no dog ever should.
I spent my life locked in a filthy shed on a hoarder’s property, crammed into a tiny pen with Cayenne — my mate, my comfort, my constant. We were stuck together in that cage, shoulder to shoulder, like sardines. The floor was covered in waste. The air was thick. We were both being bred nonstop, over and over again, even in those disgusting, heartbreaking conditions. Our fur was so matted it hurt to move. We didn’t get to run, or play, or feel grass under our feet. We just… survived.
I was rescued first. My eyes were in terrible shape and needed urgent surgery, and the amazing people at this rescue specialize in medical cases like mine. They got me out. They gave me the care I needed. But even after my surgery and a clean, safe space… I wasn’t okay. I was heartbroken. Something inside me was still missing.
It was Cayenne.
He was still there. Still in that pen. Still being bred. Still waiting. When the rescue realized he hadn’t made it out with me, they moved fast — and I mean fast. They rushed to get him and brought him straight to Miami to be with me again.
And when we were reunited… I lit up. We both did. We had survived the worst part of our lives together, and now, we were finally safe, side by side again — like it was always meant to be.
But we’re not home yet. Cayenne is fighting heartworm disease, and we can’t move on until he’s healthy. We have a beautiful future waiting for us in Maine — a home on acres of land, with a family who already loves us. They’re waiting patiently for both of us. But right now, Cayenne needs help. The treatment is tough, and it’s expensive.
If you can, please consider donating to help him heal. We’ve made it this far together. We just need a little help to finish our journey — and finally live the life we’ve always deserved.
With hope,
Bailey 🐾
