Dear Future Family,

My name is Cheddar, and I’ve been through a lot to get to this point—but I’m still purring.

I was found during a TNR project in terrible shape, with a painful, infected wound where my eye should have been. Even then, when someone reached out to comfort me, I couldn’t help myself—I purred. I just wanted love, even when I was hurting.

The rescue team knew right away that I wasn’t meant to go back outside. They gave me the surgery I needed, and since then, I’ve blossomed into the sweetest, silliest, most affectionate boy.

I may be a little shy at first, but with love, I’ll be your bestie. I’ll follow you from room to room, climb into your lap the second you sit down, and sleep snuggled right next to you if you let me. I love head rubs, sunny naps, and rubbing my face against yours with my gentle little purr.

I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested. I’ve got a big appetite, a big heart, and so much love to give. I get along well with other cats and would enjoy a friend to play or nap with—but I’d also be happy as your one and only if you’re home enough to hang out with me.

After everything I’ve survived, I’m just grateful to be safe and warm—but what I really dream of is a forever home. A window of my own. A couch to stretch out on. A person to love with my whole orange heart.
