HI, I AM IVY
RESCUED FROM: STRAY/MEDICAL
Dear Person Who Might Be My Forever,
My name is Ivy, and I’m writing this curled up in a warm bed, purring softly, dreaming of a lap I can call my own. I don’t know who you are yet, but I’ve got a feeling you’re out there — someone who wants a little black kitten who’s survived the hard stuff and still loves with her whole heart.
I came from a place where help is rare. There’s a woman there who feeds a lot of cats — but no one is spaying or neutering, so the cycle of suffering never stops. Kittens are born sick, over and over. One of our amazing fosters happens to live in that neighborhood, and she’s been quietly rescuing cats from there for a long time. When she found me — covered in crust, raw from mange, severely anemic, barely able to hold myself up — she called the rescue hysterical. She was bawling, crying, heartbroken. She didn’t even ask — she just begged us to help me. And of course, they said yes.
Back then, I was barely hanging on. Now? You’d never know. My fur has come back soft and silky, and my eyes — big, round, and shiny — are full of love. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy. I adore my kitty friends — we play, snuggle, and sunbathe together — so if you're looking for two, maybe I could bring one along. But what I want most is you. I’m the kind of kitten who climbs into your lap and doesn’t want to leave. I’m gentle, sweet, and full of quiet affection. The humans here say I’m “to die for.” I just think I’m a lucky little cat with a lot of love left to give.
I’m currently in Miami, but our rescue sends a transport up north every two weeks for approved adopters — so even if you’re far away, don’t worry. I can make my way home.
You can apply for me at sunshineanimalrescue.org. I don’t want much — just someone who wants to be loved by a cat who never gave up.
All my love,
Ivy
