My name is Seffie, and I’m writing this from a place I never dreamed I’d be lucky enough to reach—safety. For most of my life, that wasn’t something I could count on. I lived outside with my sister, Laylani, surviving as best we could. We were already a little older when we were finally rescued—grown cats who had known hunger, fear, and the constant uncertainty of life on the streets.

When I was found, I had large, open wounds across my belly. I was in pain, vulnerable, and honestly, exhausted. My sister stayed by my side the whole time, and a kind woman who had been feeding us made a call that saved our lives. She reached out to this rescue, and they welcomed us in without hesitation.

I don’t remember much from those early days in recovery—just that it was the first time in my life I didn’t have to fight to survive. I could rest. Heal. Be a cat.

And now… now I’m someone new.

I’m still me, of course—I’ve always had a gentle soul—but these days, I’m so much more than just a survivor. I’m affectionate, silly, curious, and I *love* to eat. I’m very food motivated, which is great news if you have treats and patience (I respond very well to both). I’ve fallen in love with sunny windows and cozy blankets. I’m learning to trust humans more every day, and I quietly crave affection—even if I take a little time to show it.

I do really well with other cats and enjoy their company, though I’m equally happy as a solo cat in a peaceful home. What matters more than anything is that my new family understands that I’ve come a long way, and I’m still adjusting to this life of comfort and love. I need someone who sees the value in slow magic—who doesn’t mind if I hide under the bed for a few days, or if it takes me a few weeks to crawl into your lap. I *will* come around. I want to. I just need someone who gives me the chance.

I’m fully vetted—spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed—and located in Miami, but the rescue transports north every two weeks. If you’re anywhere North, I can travel to you.

I’m not the kind of cat who will meet a stranger and melt in their arms. But I am the kind of cat who will learn your voice, follow you quietly from room to room, sit beside you in a sunny window, and with love and patience, curl up in your lap.
