When Mishka first came into our care, her story nearly ended before it had the chance to begin. Just a year old, this beautiful German Shepherd was fighting for her life on the cold floor of an emergency clinic. Weak, struggling to breathe, and hooked up to oxygen tubes and IVs, her former owners had chosen euthanasia. But we couldn’t let that be her ending.

We stepped in, determined to give Mishka a chance. Days of intensive hospitalization followed — oxygen machines, round-the-clock care, and a team fighting as hard as she was. It was touch and go, but Mishka’s spirit never gave up.

And she pulled through.

The skinny, fragile pup who could barely lift her head grew stronger each day. Soon, her goofy Shepherd energy came shining through — leaps, wiggles, and all the enthusiasm her big heart could hold.

Today, Mishka is thriving in her forever home. She found a family who not only understands her high-energy Shepherd ways, but celebrates them. With structure, play, and endless love, Mishka has finally found the life she was meant to live.

Her transformation from a critically ill pup to a vibrant, joyful companion is nothing short of miraculous — and it’s all thanks to the generosity of people who believed she deserved more.
