Dear Future Family,

Hi. I’m Thunder — and no, I’m not loud and scary like a storm, unless you count how loud I purr when you finally win me over (or how much of a ruckus I cause splashing in my water fountain). I’m just a goofy little guy who had a pretty rough start, but I’ve turned into something pretty special — at least that’s what the humans here keep saying.

When I was a tiny baby, I lived under a building near a storage unit. I was sick — like, really sick. My eyes were crusted shut, my nose was a mess, and I didn’t know what it felt like to be warm and safe. The nice humans from Sunshine Animal Rescue saw me and said, “We have to help this one.” They scooped me up, gave me meds (yuck), warm blankets (yes, please), and food (I love food). I fought off that nasty cold and came out stronger — and way more mischievous.

Now I’m almost a year old — still a kitten at heart — and I’m all healthy! I’m neutered, vaccinated, and up-to-date on everything. I still take a minute to warm up to new people (I’m not rude, I just like to feel safe), but once I decide you’re my person? I’m all in. Playtime? I’m there. Snacks? Count me in. Water fountain? I live for it. I might splash it all over the floor, but what’s life without a little fun?

I’m currently in Miami, but the rescue sends a transport up north every two weeks for approved adopters — so if you’re not in Florida, don’t worry. I can come to you (with a little help from my friends).
