Uno should have never made it. But here he is — standing tall, full of life, and waiting for someone to love him.

Uno came to Sunshine Animal Rescue a few months ago after he was hit by a car, his leg shattered, his body swollen and bruised. He was just a puppy — not even a year old — and he was already broken. Our veterinary clinic called us to see if we could help. The pain he was in was unbearable, but he still wagged his tail. He still tried to love. He still fought to stay alive.

We rushed him into surgery to try to save his leg, and by some miracle, we did. That leg — the one that once hung limp and useless — now lets him run, hop, jump, play, and zoom around like nothing ever happened. Watching him now, you'd never know how close he came to losing it.

Uno is a big, blocky, stocky, beefy guy — the kind of dog with a marshmallow heart hidden behind a muscley, goofy puppy body. He LOVES to play with other dogs, is good with kids, and lives for a good game of tug-of-war. He's a little bit of a roughhouser when he's excited, but it’s all in good fun — and a good hardy toy (BarkBox Super Chewers are his absolute favorite!) will keep him busy and happy for hours.

He's smart, eager to please, and doing great with crate training and potty training — though like any young dog, he’ll need a little time and patience to adjust to your home, your routine, and your rules. He’s worth every bit of effort.

Uno is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and READY for a forever family of his own.
He’s already survived more than most dogs ever have. Now, he just needs someone to show him what it’s like to be safe, wanted, and home for good.
